Res Q Angels - Saving Stray Dogs in Yakima County
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with RQA!  We have many volunteer opportunities; one surely will fit your needs.  Each position listed gives a brief description and the approximate time commitment.  If something you are interested in doing is not listed, please let us know!  We can use all sorts of talents!

Dog Foster Parents: Provide temporary housing for homeless pets until permanent, loving homes can be found. RQA pays for the costs associated with veterinary care, food, and incidental needs of our foster pets, and our foster parents provide the love! Time: as necessary for the dogs care.
Adoption Counselor: Review adoption applications submitted on line or at an Adoption Event. Must attend training to become a counselor. Requires: Good interpersonal skills, ability to listen well, and comfortable talking to strangers while using a check sheet of topics to cover. Time: 1-3 hours a week.
Animal Transport: Volunteers provide assistance transporting animals to veterinary appointments on occasional mornings, evenings, or both. Transports to Bellevue Humane Shelter are also done on an as needed basis. Time: up to 5 hrs a week, depending on need.
Fundraising Volunteer: We need volunteers to help at our events by taking care of dogs, talking to the public, and generally having fun. Work, but fun. Time: Depends on Fundraiser
Graphic Design: Volunteers take photographs and design printed materials to advertise special events and ongoing efforts to find homes for our animals. Time: 1-3+hrs a week.
Stray Rescue Team: Assists in rescuing stay dogs. These volunteers may be called upon for a rescue 24hrs a day. We are always open to rescue!
Correspondence: Writes and sends (postage provided) thank you cards.
Phone CallsThis person (people) will follow-up with our adopters using a set form. The follow up time is 24hrs, 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days post adoption. Requires a phone, willingness to listen, learn new strategies of dog care, enjoy talking to people.  Time: 1-3 hrs a week depending on adoptions.

Computer Work: Spread sheets, Windows Apps,  Files, Oh MY! Do you know how to work with computer software? Do we have a spot for you! Much of what we do needs to be supported with facts and figures, all which require forms! Time: As needed
Data Processing: This person would keep our donor data base up to date, enter facts/info on our dogs, collect measurable data for grants and such.

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a personal welcome email from our President .  A meeting time will then be set to acquaint you with RQA and plug you into our volunteer system per your interest.
